Privacyverklaring (Nederlands)

Laatst gewijzigd: oktober 2026.

1 Wie is verantwoordelijk

Privacy statement (English)

Communication in Practice handles personal data with care and complies with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). This statement explains which data we process, for what purpose, how long we keep it and which rights you have. Last updated: October 2026.

1 Who is responsible

The controller for the processing of your data is Mts. Communication in Practice, St Annastraat 404, 6525 ZM Nijmegen, the Netherlands, Chamber of Commerce (KvK) number 59750448, email info@communicationinpractice.com, telephone +31 (0)622604319. We have no data protection officer, because the law does not require us to appoint one.

2 Which data we use and why

When you order a book, we use your name, delivery address, billing address, email address and, if you provide it, your telephone number. We use these to process your order and deliver the book. We do this to perform the purchase contract (Article 6(1)(b) GDPR).

Payment is handled by Mollie. We only receive the outcome of the payment and a payment reference, not your bank or credit card details.

We keep orders, invoices and payments for seven years, because Dutch tax law requires this (Article 6(1)(c) GDPR).

If you withdraw from a purchase, return a book or make a complaint, we use your name, order number, email address and your message to handle it. We also keep this data for seven years, because a refund is part of our accounting records.

If you ask a question via the contact form or by email, we use your name, email address, your message and, if provided, your telephone number to reply. We do this on the basis of our legitimate interest (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR). We delete these messages twelve months after the last contact.

Our hosting provider records which pages are visited, with the IP address and the time. We only use this data to secure the website and resolve malfunctions, and we keep it no longer than necessary.

Providing the data for an order is necessary to perform the contract. Without that data we cannot deliver your order. We do not sell your data and we do not use it for advertising. You order as a guest: we do not offer customer accounts.

3 Who we share data with

We only share data with parties that need it to perform their task:

  • The carrier, which delivers your parcel. They receive your name, address and, where applicable, telephone number and email address for the delivery.
  • Mollie B.V., which processes the payment. Mollie also uses the payment data for its own obligations, such as fraud prevention, and is responsible for that itself. See Mollie’s privacy statement.
  • TransIP B.V., which hosts our website and email.
  • Our bookkeeper, for our accounting.
  • The Dutch Tax Administration or another public authority if the law requires us to.

We have made agreements with parties that process data on our behalf about the protection of your data. We do not transfer personal data to countries outside the European Economic Area.

4 Cookies

We only use cookies that are necessary to make the website work, such as remembering your language choice and your shopping cart. These do not require consent. We do not use cookies for analytics, tracking or advertising.

Our website contains links to websites of others, such as Bol.com and LinkedIn. They are responsible for how they handle personal data themselves.

5 Security

We take appropriate measures against loss and misuse of your data: the website runs entirely over a secure connection (https), access to data is limited to those who need it, the software is kept up to date and we do not store credit card or bank details ourselves. If you suspect misuse or a security problem, please contact us.

6 Your rights

You can ask us for access to your data, for correction, for erasure, for restriction of the processing and for transfer of your data to yourself or to another party. You can also object to processing that we base on our legitimate interest. Send your request to info@communicationinpractice.com. We may ask you to identify yourself and we respond within one month. Data that we are legally required to keep, such as our accounting records, cannot be erased earlier.

7 Complaints

If you wish to complain about the processing of your data, please contact us first so that we can resolve it together. You can also lodge a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens, autoriteitpersoonsgegevens.nl) or with the supervisory authority in your own country.

8 No automated decisions

We do not take decisions about you that are based solely on automated processing and we do not profile visitors.

9 Children

Our webshop is not aimed at persons under sixteen. We do not wish to collect data from children without the consent of their parents. If you think we hold data of a child, please contact us and we will delete it.

10 Changes

We may amend this statement, for example if the webshop changes. The current version is always on this page, with the date of the last change at the top.
